The mount kit comes with the hardware to either put this on your dashboard or on the windshield. We provide an adhesive mounting plate to lock your receiver in place on the dash. The suction cup allows for positioning your mount anywhere on your windshield. The great part about this mount is that the suction cup actually sticks to the smooth dashboard mounting plate. This allows you to move it to another car using the suction cup option.
